Etro Anime means 'To be infinite: with spirit and in movement'. Formed in Y2K, Etro Anime embodied this mantra, thus beginning their career playing gigs in cozy New York City clubs including Izzy Bar, Rebar and The Spiral Lounge. The band’s charismatic live show has won fans over from around the globe, from the local gigs around Manhattan to headlining with Kosheen across Europe! Combining various elements of sultry lounge, head nodding trip-hop and the catchy upbeat rhythms of drum & bass with the warm and sensual vocals create an alluring song of sirens if you will. Consisting of Ted Birkey, David Fisher, Shambo Pfaff, Tom Welsch and Lissette Alea on vocals, Etro Anime is poised on developing a strong base of technical talent into a body of musically intelligent and innovative songs. All of the members bring their experience as musicians, their own creativity and passion for the music into the band. That's probably why their music contains so many elements of different musical styles. You hear pieces of trip hop and drum & bass mingled with phat beats and soulful grooves.
